Floodplain Permit
A Utah County Floodplain Development Permit is required for any man-made development—including construction, grading, excavation, or other land alterations—within a designated floodplain in unincorporated Utah County. The permit ensures all proposed activities comply with the Utah Flood Protection In Special Flood Hazard Areas Ordinance and FEMA regulations, protecting property and eligibility for the National Flood Insurance Program. Applicants must submit detailed plans showing the scope, location, and elevation of their project, and obtain approval before starting any work within the floodplain.
